How we put a story together

Useful ideas, with room for local differences

We aim to make an idea easier to understand and try. Suggestions in our guides are starting points, not promises of outcomes. A venue, volunteer organisation or local authority may have requirements that a general article cannot cover.

Sources you can follow

We link to relevant original resources when they support a point. An archived resource is labelled as archived. Publication dates show when an article was published, not that every outside service or policy has been checked on that date. We do not invent research statistics, interviews, endorsements or first-hand experience.

Writing and illustrations

Drafting may be AI-assisted. Launch illustrations are AI-generated depictions of imagined community settings and are labelled accordingly. They do not document a real event, organisation or person.

An independent voice

GP Common is an editorial publication, not a charity or a representative of a previous domain owner. We do not accept donations through this website. Links to organisations are provided as sources and do not imply partnership or endorsement.
